Today is the first day of summer. It has been so hot and muggy here that you almost miss winter! I fear my electric bill. Due to the weather and my hot flashes, I keep turning the thermostat down, down, down……. We finally got our pool opened but after 5 days, the water is warm as bathwater. I am thinking of making some huge ice cubes for it. I could fill some clean, empty coffee cans and milk cartons with water and put them in the pool after freezing them. That might cool it off a little!

I am addicted to strawberry lemonade. I had my first glass at O’Charleys a few weeks ago and have been trying out recipes. This is the one that I like so far:

STRAWBERRY LEMONADE
Printed from COOKS.COM

1 10oz. pkg frozen strawberries
1 6oz can frozen pink lemonade concentrate
1 1/2 cups water
1 16 oz bottle soda water or ginger ale
dash of grenadine syrup (optional)

Thaw strawberries for 20 minutes or until they begin to soften slightly.
Place all ingredients in blender and serve as-is or over ice cubes.

Are you watching World Cup Soccer? It is very interesting although I haven’t quite figured out the scoring yet. There is a lot of action and a lot of cute guys to watch. I am making some team bracelets and I really like them.

Summer is finally here!
